How should I properly handle things after my pet passes away?
Please place your pet in a quiet area at home and prepare a comfortable box for them to rest in (a cardboard box will do if you don’t have one). Line it with their favorite towel or sheet. About two hours after passing, the body will begin to stiffen. If possible, gently position your pet in a sleeping posture and cover them lightly with a towel or blanket. Pay close attention to indoor temperature (use air conditioning in summer to keep cool). If conditions allow, you may place pre-prepared ice packs gently on the pet’s head and abdomen. You can also place their favorite toys, food, and photos nearby. Once ready, please call RESOUL’s 24-hour hotline at 6476 2951. Our staff will arrive within two hours to collect your pet for cleaning and resting. While waiting, you may slowly groom your pet’s fur and gently wipe the body with a towel, or perform prayers according to your religious customs.
Does RESOUL provide 24-hour collection service? Are there location restrictions?
Yes, RESOUL offers 24-hour pet collection service from your home or any veterinary clinic across Hong Kong. Actual arrival time depends on location and traffic. There is no extra charge during after hours or holidays, but an additional charge apply for Discovery Bay (HK$300) and stairs walkup. Owners can also inform us in advance about the pet’s condition so we can prepare ahead and speed up the process.
I want to spend more time with my pet. Can I extend the memorial time?
Yes, but since every pet’s physical condition is different, please discuss feasibility with our staff in advance.
Can I press the button and accompany the entire cremation process?
Yes, you may personally press the button to bid farewell. For safety and insurance reasons, after pressing the button, you will need to leave the work area and wait in the adjacent lounge. The entire process takes about two hours, after which you can immediately take your pet’s ashes home. Don’t worry—the entire process is recorded to ensure transparency and accuracy.
Can I change the cremation time?
Yes, you can change it once for free, but please notify us at least 48 hours in advance.
Is there a time limit for collecting ashes?
Since pets are eager to return home, we recommend collecting the ashes within one week. You may authorize a family member or arrange a courier to help with collection.
What items can I include with my pet during cremation?
You may include a small amount of food, snacks, paper items, and fresh flowers. Other items, especially plastic, are not recommended as they may affect the quality of the ashes.
Can I keep some of my pet’s fur as a keepsake?
Absolutely. Please inform us in advance so we can save fur shed during grooming for making memorial items. You may also personally groom your pet during the memorial ceremony to keep some fur.
What types of pets does RESOUL accept?
Cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, birds, and other small animals are all welcome—they are all beloved companions.
Does RESOUL offer same-day cremation service?
